Provision Coffee Like a Skipper
How much coffee do you actually need?
A useful starting point is approximately 20 grams of coffee per 12-ounce cup. For a crew of five drinking two cups each per day over ten days, that's roughly 100 cups, or about 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of coffee.
And don't forget the water.
Coffee requires fresh water too, so include brewing water in your freshwater calculations alongside your crew's daily drinking-water needs.
Happy crew. Well-Fed crew. Hydrated crew. Caffeinated crew.
That's a pretty good passage plan.

Oxygen gradually diminishes the aromas and flavors that make specialty coffee special. That's why our 2 oz provisioning packets are particularly useful for sailing: each portion stays sealed until you're ready to brew, helping minimize exposure while making galley organization wonderfully simple.
