At the heart of the Comic Regatta is our limited-edition coffee comic series, a whimsical tribute to the fearless brews and fearless crews that fuel them. Here’s your logbook into each tale:
“Beans Before the Storm”
Before the squall, there’s the pour. This chapter opens with the crew scrambling to brew one last pot before the skies break loose. Storm clouds gather, tensions rise, and only the boldest roast, Skipper Amelia Gaoth’s Espresso Blend, can power the crew through the gale. It’s a story of courage, timing, and the importance of a perfectly pulled espresso under pressure.
“The Drip in the Deep”
Beneath the deck lies a hidden reservoir of mystery… and dark roast. When the bilge starts dripping coffee instead of water, the crew dives deep to uncover the source. This comic pays tribute to the legends of long-lost brews and the steady hand of a sailor who can brew in the belly of the ship. Bold, brooding, and best enjoyed with a splash of intrigue.
“Tales of the Jibing Cold Brew”
Not every story is stormy ...some are brewed slowly under the sun. This comic follows the misadventures of the crew attempting to craft the perfect cold brew while tacking across San Diego Bay. There’s spilled grounds, over-steeped batches, and a dramatic sail-powered taste test. It’s chill, chaotic, and caffeinated to perfection.
“Mystery of the Missing Whiskey Barrel”
One morning, the prized whiskey barrel used to age Skipper Marco Vento’s roast vanishes without a trace. What follows is a nautical noir tale of misdirection, maritime mischief, and a blend so rich it was bound to be stolen. Expect smoky undertones, shady shipmates, and a mug full of mystery.
