Limited Edition for Coffee of the Month August 2026
Every great voyage leaves something behind.
A ripple across calm water. A trail stretching toward the horizon. A story that lingers long after the sails are lowered.
Our newest Navigator's Reserve release is inspired by that very idea.
Introducing Golden Wake - Honduras, Finca Liquidámbar, our Limited Edition for Coffee of the Month August 2026 ...an exceptional Single-Origin from Honduras: Honey Processed Finca Liquidámbar that celebrates craftsmanship, conservation, and the people who believe every harvest should leave the world a little better than they found it.
Leave an unforgettable wake wherever your voyage takes you.
From the Highlands of Honduras
Nestled in the community of Guascotoro, San José, La Paz, Finca Liquidámbar is a 37-acre organic coffee farm where Bourbon, Catuai, and Pacas varietals flourish at 1,510 MASL in mineral-rich clay soils.
Here, every coffee cherry benefits from cool mountain air, fertile hillsides, and the careful stewardship of Roberto Rene González and his family.
This isn't simply coffee grown on a farm. It's coffee nurtured by a vision.
Sweet by Nature
Unlike fully washed coffees, Golden Wake is crafted using the Honey Process ...also known as a pulped natural process.
After the outer fruit is removed, a portion of the naturally sweet mucilage remains on the beans while they slowly dry inside protected solar dryers. The result is a beautifully balanced cup that captures both sweetness and clarity.
Roast Level: Medium
Profile Notes
- Brown Sugar
- Nectarine
- Peach
- Toasted Coconut
Each sip offers layers of ripe stone fruit wrapped in warm brown sugar sweetness, finishing with a smooth touch of toasted coconut that lingers like the glow of a summer sunset over open water.
It's bright, comforting, and wonderfully memorable.
A Farm with a Bigger Mission
Roberto Rene González was one of the first people in his community to earn a university degree, studying business management before returning home to help lead both his family's farm and RAOS (Cooperativa Regional de Agricultores Orgánicos de la Sierra), where he now serves as general manager.
His passion extends far beyond producing exceptional coffee.
Roberto is actively working to have 19 acres of Finca Liquidámbar recognized as a biological reserve, preserving native forests while creating opportunities for ecotourism throughout the region.
It's a reminder that sustainability isn't just about today's harvest.
It's about protecting tomorrow's landscape.
Growing More Than Coffee
The impact of Finca Liquidámbar reaches well beyond the coffee trees.
The farm provides year-round employment for seven people and expands to approximately thirty workers during harvest season.
Roberto, his wife Odalma, and their two children actively partner with local schools and community organizations, supporting road improvements and youth programs that strengthen the region they proudly call home.
Like a captain investing in the next generation of sailors, they're helping build a stronger future ...one project, one family, and one harvest at a time.
Why "Golden Wake"?
Because the finest journeys aren't measured only by where they take us. They're measured by what they leave behind.
Golden Wake honors the shimmering trail a vessel leaves across open water, while celebrating the lasting impact thoughtful farming, community leadership, and environmental stewardship can have for generations.
It's a fitting name for a coffee whose sweetness comes naturally ...and whose story leaves an even deeper impression.
Crafted with Care
Every lot is milled as a single-farm micro-lot through RAOS, allowing Roberto and his team to maintain exceptional quality from harvest through processing.
The careful honey process, protected solar drying, and organic farming practices all contribute to a cup that is both expressive and remarkably clean. It's proof that patience, precision, and passion make outstanding companions.
Almost as good as coffee and sailing. Almost.
